Underfloor Heating
Underfloor heating was first used by the Romans for the wealthy. As for the modern method, it works by using a heated layer underneath the floor which rises to heat the room. This layer can be composed of tubing containing water, mesh, heated electric cable, film heaters or a combination of them all depending on the product used, source of power and any energy saving methods employed elsewhere in the building.
The greatest advantage of underfloor heating is its even distribution around the room, which makes it more comfortable than most conventional heating methods like radiators and fireplaces which tend to be warmer near the source. The knock on effect of the even warmth distribution is that less energy is wasted to heat the room as a whole, saving money and the environment.
