Little known fact; the word stairs actually includes escalators and ladders by definition. The definition being a construction designed to make vertical distances easier by splitting them up into smaller vertical distances. For the purposes of garden rooms we'll stick with the classic opinion of what stairs are.

Even then, stairs are split up into many different subcategories; floating stairs, spiral stairs, winder stairs and more beside. Our own granny annex, the Barn, has a very elegant floating stair setup.

Next time you want to change altitude, think a little differently about how you could make this process more interesting and the tool more eye-catching. It doesn't have to be as complex as the Spanish Steps or Penrose Stairs, but if it can bring a sense of elegance to the space it has certainly done more than most other stairs.
