Grey Water Recycling
Grey Water is the term applied to waste water from baths, showers, sinks and washing machines because the level of contamination is relatively low compared to toilet waste water. It is this level of comparative contamination that allows Grey Water to be recycled in certain areas of the house, mostly areas where human contact isn't necessary.
Grey Water can be used very effectively as toilet flushing water if given some standard treatment suitable for a WC. However; an issue arises if the water is not used quickly enough as bacteria will multiply depending on the level of treatment.
Another area you can use Grey Water in is the garden; indeed, water can be used in such a manner without any treatment at all. Of course, the best source of garden water is still rainwater, but this is a highly viable option for drought areas or areas which have frequent hosepipe bans. Note that although this is okay for regular garden use, Grey Water shouldn't be used to grow fruit, vegetables and other edible crops. One further word of caution is that Grey Water is generally well filtered by soil, but can cause the soil to degrade, especially if the water has a high concentrate of soap.
