An increased number of people working from home has seen the average commuting times drop to an all time low in ten years. Research carried out by the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has reported the average commute time is now down 47 minutes and 48 seconds. The severe drop in these figures, will also contribute to companies trying to lower their carbon footprint.

The decline was thought to be accredited to the increasing popularity of working from home, with more people seeking to avoid a long stressful commute either by car, bus or train. With the growing number of people choosing to work from home, converting a space to be used solely for a home office becomes a problem.
