Wood Cladding – the Perfect Garden Office Finish

By Steven Willis on 12th December, 2011
Every Decorated Shed comes with premium wood cladding. Like all aspects of our garden offices, the wood cladding is specified to look beautiful and perform to the highest possible standards.
We use three specific types of wood for our garden office exterior cladding, each offering different appearances and performance attributes. To ensure the best suitability we select the type of wood cladding based on several factors, including; the overall location of the site, ie; whether it’s in an exposed location, close proximity to sea air or any other potentially damaging environmental factor; the design of the garden office itself; and your own personal preference.
Here is a little about the types of wood that we use for our garden office cladding, and their individual properties;
Western Red Cedar is a popular choice that appears on many of our garden offices and other projects. Cedar is something of an all-rounder, with a beautiful colour tone throughout its lifespan, outstanding insulation and durability to the elements.
Larch is a particularly resilient hardwood, and therefore represents the best option for any garden office located in exposed environments. With its dense makeup, Larch is the ideal choice for any building that regularly contends with extreme temperatures or
Thermowood is a heat-treated type of Redwood. The treatment process imbues an exceptional stability to the wood by removing natural resin, which makes for cladding that is completely resistant to movement throughout its lifetime. As well as an inherent solidity, Thermowood contributes to great insulation performance for the garden office overall.
Whichever wood cladding you select for your Decorated Shed garden office you can be assured of a beautiful looking building that will grace your garden for decades to come.
