Transport Centre Includes Rooftop Park!

Transport Centre Includes Rooftop Park!

By Dawn Kubicek on 4th May, 2010

Summer must have been in the mind of the designer Pelli Clarke for San Francisco's new transport centre which was revealed last week! Most notably an incredible 5.4 acre public park that will have an amphitheatre for music performances and movie screenings is situated on the roof!

The San Francisco Transport Centre is designed to hold 12 transport systems and will also house the future high speed rail terminals. It will be constructed from steel and glass with a curvilinear exterior inspired the by the sway of tree trunks and their canopies. Additionally and very importantly a number of green building strategies were incorporated into the design, including passive solar shading, high performance glazing, and geothermal cooling and even wind power.

Here at Decorated shed we offer bespoke sunrooms which will be ideal for relaxing and unwinding in the summer evenings and weekends. Your sunroom can be built to your specific requirements and because we build to your specification there are very little limitations. Green building is something we take very seriously here at Decorated Shed and is taken in to consideration in all of our garden buildings. Summer is drawing close, but no need to worry as we can have your sunroom up and ready for use in four days depending on the design.
