The Garden Studio - In Tune with the Environment

By Francesca McGlone on 2nd December, 2010
We hold each of our garden buildings in great esteem as an environmentally respectful structure. All of our garden studios and offices showcase quality, which is concentrated into every element of the build. Our structures are designed to last; the rigidity of timber together with the beautifying effects of real wood cladding are appreciated as natural riches that should be valued as such, as we essentially emulate nature’s beauty and strength. As a durable structure with a long life, our garden buildings lock up carbon for a lengthy period, so that it is not released into the atmosphere and environmental damage is secured against. We ensure that all our suppliers provide materials that are sustainably and ethically managed, so that other environmentally considered aspects of a build are not undone.
Your garden is treated to a haven of cosy warmth, made possible through a highly insulated structure so that time in a garden studio or office is pleasurable, where the chilly scenes of winter can be appreciated from a perspective of comfort. The life of the garden studio’s exterior is prolonged by a thermo-wood process, which preserves the beauty of the exterior along with its excellent performance. Walls padded with eco-therm foam insulation, premium double-glazed windows and a generous layering of insulation quilting within the roof all work together to trap heat inside, making a garden office or studio the epitome of snugness.
As well as a heat trap, a garden studio can also be soundproof, if required. Listening to music or playing a musical instrument is made a carefree activity, as the volume can increase without disturbing neighbours or members of the house. What could be better than a space dedicated to your favourite tunes, where worries melt away? After all it is thought that music can speak to the soul and where better to soak up its lyrical melodies than in the beautiful environment of a private garden. The German Poet Berthold Auerbach wrote; “Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” With Berthold’s words in mind, it seems plausible that combining music with a personal haven is the very concoction needed to revitalize.
The hushed quiet provided by a garden building that is situated far enough from the bustle and distractions of a main house but near enough to still benefit from the privacy and comfort delivered by home grounds should be treated as a treasured luxury. Add music to the mix and the space becomes geared solely for your indulgence. The British orchestra conductor, Leopold Stokowski commented; “A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence.” The interior of a garden studio provides the base or canvas, being peace and quiet, on which to splash joyous musical harmonies.
