The benefits of a premium garden room

The market for garden rooms has exploded in the UK in recent years, as more and more people acknowledge the potential of their gardens and how rewarding it is to spend time in them. Gardens are the sanctuary that’s right outside your door, and with today’s seemingly nonstop lifestyles their calming influence can be invaluable. With this growth in popularity there are now a multitude of garden rooms available, with a huge range of prices and specifications for the consumer.

With so much choice out there, deciding on the right garden room can become a difficult and complex task. If you’re looking to have a garden room of your own, here are some of the key issues that you should perhaps be considering before you make your choice;

Year round use
What will your garden room be used for? Will it be an office? An entertainment room? A reading room? A gym? Storage space? Whatever it is intended for, it’s likely that you’ll want access and comfortable usage all year round, in all weathers. A garden room that is unusable in the winter months is a wasted opportunity. The ability to use a garden room all year round comes from several factors, in short; insulation; build quality, material quality and glazing quality. If you suspect a garden room is lacking in any one of these areas then you’ll likely find it to be like the inside of a fridge between November and February.

Longevity
Another aspect of a garden room is the longevity and overall lifespan. Like any investment, this needs to be considered against the initial cost, and weighed up against the years it’ll provide active and competent service. A low cost garden room might seem like a bargain to begin with, but if it’s only lasting a fraction of the time that a more expensive alternative would then it is effectively rather costly. Longevity, much like the ability to use the space 12-months a year, comes from the quality of materials.

Beauty
No matter how large or secluded your garden is, garden rooms are generally quite a significant fixture in them. So, it’s important that they look good. While undoubtedly a matter of personal taste and preference – after all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder – a premium quality garden room will generally look more appealing than a cheaper solution. Once again the materials used in the building come into play – with low cost timber and finishings simply providing no comparison against high quality alternatives.
