Office building takes advantage of natural light

By Matthew Thompson on 21st December, 2010

A building which has an abundance of natural light is a pleasant place to be, as the sun shining through into the rooms and creates a serene atmosphere. The newly renovated Wynkoop building in Denver, Colorado was developed by the international office of the real estate company Hines and has been certified LEED-Gold for core and shell, World Design Network reports. The Wynkoop building has an energy star rating of 98 and is in the top 3% of buildings in the US for excellent energy performance.

The façade of the structure is in the traditional Denver style of metal, brick and glass; however the full height 9ft 4inch windows allow natural light flood into the building. Glass can sometimes affect the environmental aspects of the building; yet the Wynkoop building has combated this and has just $1.29 in energy costs per square metre and is more than 53% energy efficient. The Wynkoop’s ability to mix energy efficiency, style and natural light can be seen in Decorated Shed’s range of garden offices. The expansive windows and tri-fold doors create a serene atmosphere where work and productivity come easily.

Our garden office is designed so you are working in an environment where you can see and enjoy the nature of your garden. A productive working attitude comes with working in specifically designed building in your garden, bathed in light. A Decorated Shed garden office is built using eco-friendly, insulating materials, and similar to the Wynkoop building has many benefits by taking advantage of natural light. Garden offices are increasing in popularity, with more people reducing costs and investing in a meticulously designed garden office.
