New wave in small homes and green building

By Dawn Kubicek on 2nd June, 2010
Your Decorated Shed garden building can be built as a leisure room/office or as a small home. We have had increased interest in our miniature homes with the design we call the Barn. As we design to your requirements and needs we can build it to any size you like, so it can be a one bedroom garden annex and be a mini addition to your home, or it can be a brand new home altogether.
Living in small houses which are built with recycled materials has proven to be popular here in the UK and around the world. I was impressed by an article I read yesterday where the Parisian architect Patrick Nadeau was constructing a gorgeous green house disguised as a grassy hill in the city of Reims, France. The 'wave house' is very obviously aimed towards plant lovers with its unique design and grass green roof. It proves that virtually anything is possible when it comes to green building and that there are still plenty of options.
The architect describes the roof as "a mix of grasses, leafy succulents, thymes, lavenders and other small aromatic and perennial plants"
These days green roofs are proving their insulation performance especially when it comes to keeping the building cool in summer months.
