London Design Festival 2010

On September 18th 2010 London welcomed the Design Festival for the eighth year running. It will take a lot to beat last year with over 200 commissioned installations and exhibitions, but this does help confirm London’s position as creative capital of the world.

There's even this from Mayor of London, Boris Johnson: "The London Design Festival offers an outstanding showcase of some of most exciting design anywhere in the world. Amidst international competition and as we move out of the downturn, it is imperative we continue to support design and celebrate its importance to our city."

The V&A will be utilised for the festival for the second year running where it will be filled with all sorts of design instillations and displays which of course are set to impress. So if you are in London visiting the festival you should definitely make a b-line for this one stop shop!

Something else that would definitely be worth a visit is Emerge; this holds a special place in the festival as it’s the only graduate show throughout the week. Not only that, but it consistently produces high quality exhibitions - so there are high hopes for this. "I'm sure this year will be no exception at THECUBE in Commercial Street." Said Allie - the exhibition events co coordinator.

Decorated Shed are always looking for new inspirational; design and architecture exhibitions which show that there are no limitations when it comes to design paired with construction. Our bespoke garden offices and studios are built with industry leading materials sourced worldwide including recycled and eco friendly materials too. We definitely like to say there are no limitations to our buildings, whether you favour a Lantern Lite studio or a Curved Lodge studio we can tailor them to suit your individual needs.

So if you need inspiration and ideas for your home or a garden building the London Design Festival may just be the place to visit.
