Home Office Switch Apartment
By Matthew Thompson on 1st December, 2010
Yuko Shibata, a Japanese designer has designed a 'switch apartment' which transforms an ordinary apartment into a home office by a sliding wall and a bookcase that opens, reports design-milk.com. The simple and ingenious system transforms the apartment and takes away the distractions normally associated with a home office. For the designer working in a tight space, the problem of separating home and work life was a big problem. A common disadvantage when choosing to work from home is the distractions you face and difficulty in separating work and home life and blocking this out was important.
This incredibly simple design, hides away the office and library at the end of the day and prevents you from walking through the homely aspects of your flat whilst at work. Completely changing the floor plan of a modern apartment to incorporate a home office is a radical approach to working from home. However the meticulous design can be mirrored to a Decorated Shed garden office, which is also designed around your business and personal requirements. A garden office, as the name suggests completely removes the office from your home and is based solely in the garden in a state of the art, bespoke garden building.
Being aware of the space that’s available is important and it can be seen in the switch apartment and the garden office, which can be designed to fit comfortably in your garden. Trying to fit an office into a spare room or dining room, does not promote a positive working attitude, which is why having a separate working area is beneficial. A home garden office which has been purpose built and is dedicated for your home business, goes a long way to improving your productivity and enjoyment in the office.
