Government targets zero-carbon home standards
By Steven Willis on 10th December, 2009
The Government is continuing to consult with the construction industry over the coming weeks in an attempt to develop standard specifications for zero-carbon homes.
The overall goal of the Government on the issue is for all new build homes to be zero-carbon by 2016, however this ambitious target is dependent on the industry providing their views on the minimum energy efficiency standards with the new homes.
Through the task group Zero Carbon Hub a series of proposals will be presented to industry figures at a number of consultation events around the UK, in which delegates will be able to vote in a bid to arrive at a consensus for the standard.
