Autumn can be the prettiest time for a garden, although summer brings blooming flowers and bright refreshing colours, autumn introduces fiery reds, burning oranges and the occasional deep pink that makes you want to wrap up and batten down the hatches, ready for the winter months. Autumn shrubs can bring warmth to your garden despite the chillier temperatures as well as providing solidity and substance to a bare landscape. Your garden office adds a focus to your garden and with its red cedar cladding; the autumn shrubs perfectly compliment its colours and organic appearance. The smouldering colours of autumn will make your garden glow, creating a beautiful scene out of your office window as you watch the leaves turn and change.

Acer palmatum
This Japanese maple is perfect to brighten up a lifeless garden, the stunning colour moves from a deep pink, to orange ending in a vibrant red; it is balanced by very dark branches that are almost black peeping through the leaves to create an unmistakeable contrast. This has enough display to stand alone and does not need to be crowded by any other plants; it needs to be kept quite sheltered in order to look at its best.

Continus
Otherwise known as the flame, it is a full autumn shrub that grows vigorously. This plant is suitable for the back border of the garden as it brings a selection of colours and can hide fences and bare soil patches. This shrub would be suitable to line the back of your garden office so that it peeps around the sides, adding a splash of colour and blending the garden office in to the surroundings. In autumn it starts as tinted reddish copper then progresses in to a refreshing green for the summer blending the garden office in to each seasonal change. Pink flowers with a hint of purple cover the plant in the summer creating a beautiful backdrop for your office.

Arnold Promise
A vase shaped shrub brings a strong scent in to your garden for the summer and an enrichment of colour in the winter. The yellow leaves transform in the autumn, slowly turning from yellow to orange and red, the slow change creates a tie dye effect on the leaves, giving a burning glow from the corner of your garden. The shades of the shrub encapsulate the feel of autumn and create happiness within a section of your natural landscape. Surrounding the garden office with Arnold Promise will brighten up your working environment during the darker months and create a bright botanical paradise when the lemon scented yellow flowers blossom in the summer time.
