Expanding Space with a Garden Room

By Steven Willis on 11th July, 2011
A house is the most expensive thing that most of us will ever buy and the purchase process is generally a fairly stressful experience, so it’s no surprise that moving house isn’t something that most people do on a regular basis. Therefore, it stands to reason that you’re going to be in a house for a relatively long time, and during that time it’s likely that your needs will likely change. Families grow, jobs change and hobbies come and go – all of which can see the house failing to cope with the demands for more space.
In these cases, the options aside from moving house are effectively narrowed down to having an extension, renovating, or building a garden room.
Extensions and renovations can be invasive, time-consuming and messy processes that cause enormous impacts on day-to-day life while they are being carried out. Depending on the type of extension, there may be several different tradesmen on-site at any given time, further complicating the development.
A garden room is an ideal solution for increasing space in a stylish, effective and hassle-free way. The build time for a garden room can be as little as ten days, and the construction process is entirely away from the main house, meaning that there’s absolutely no impact on your daily routine.
Furthermore, garden rooms can be flexibly designed around your particular requirements. Additional features such as wetrooms and kitchenettes can turn the garden room from a convenient space into a fully self-contained annex. This flexibility can extend to the garden room acting as a multi-purpose area throughout the year, fulfilling the role of a variety of tasks as the needs arise – from granny annex to garden office, and storage space to entertainment centre – there’s very little that a garden room can’t do.
