Complement your Garden Office with the Perfect Lawn

By Emma Heaton on 12th October, 2011
The beauty of a garden office is that you can walk out in to nature instead of a dismal city street. Steps away from the natural beauty of your garden, the office provides a tranquil environment to work and relax. Keeping your lawn in the best condition will complement your garden office; it will create a polished transition from the manmade structure to the natural surroundings providing an even more idyllic escape. Going to work every morning will no longer be a long and dreaded experience as the garden office is just a stones throw away from your home in a refreshing and inspirational environment.
Eliminating weeds is the first step to an immaculate lawn, it is important to identify the weeds that you have before selecting the chemical to get rid of them. If you use an incorrect amount of weedkiller it could damage your lawn.
Typical weeds that you find in a lawn:
Daisy
Dandelion
Sorrel
Parsley piert
Pearlwort
Buttercup
White Clover
Woodrush
Yarrow
Some of the weeds like Parsley piert and Pearlwort are encouraged by close mowing, however this is difficult to prevent if you want to keep your lawn in shape. Most of the weeds are killed by one or two applications of weedkiller, the ones you buy need to contain mecroprop and dichlorprop, which can be purchased from most garden centres. Weeds like Sorrel also require weedkiller, but there is an additional method of putting lime on them in winter which stops them from returning in the summer. There are stronger weeds that live in your lawn that have little response to weedkillers, annual meadow grass is one of them and for weeds like this the infected section of the grass may need to be returfed.
