Beautiful Exterior Cladding for Garden Buildings

By Andrew Tweddle on 25th August, 2011
All elements of a Decorated Shed garden building are made to the highest quality. The main ethos of Decorated Shed incorporates the idea of “beautiful buildings that are crafted to perform and to last.” This shows that whatever building materials Decorated Shed use to craft your garden building, they must be long lasting and hard wearing. The wood cladding that makes up the majority of the exterior is no exception. We use a choice of different claddings, but all meet the high standards that our garden offices must live up to.
For any Decorated Shed garden building, there are three available choices of wood cladding. There’s Larch, Western Red Cedar and Thermowood, which is made from Redwood. Each is of a very high quality, but has its own individual properties, which can be extra useful in certain projects.
The first requirement of any wood cladding is that it needs to be very durable and resistant to the effects of the weather. Western Red Cedar is very durable, but larch is extremely dense and strong, which make it perfect for more extreme weather conditions. Thermowood is very durable and stable, plus it’s resistant to swelling, shrinkage or distortion. Thermowood is also very low maintenance.
Another advantage of the wood cladding we use is that they all offer a very high-end appearance, which gives your new garden building a very modern and elegant feel. Western Red Cedar is perhaps the most visually beautiful of the three claddings. During its lifetime, it goes through a natural ageing process that adds character and life to your garden building, which helps it to blend in even more to its natural surroundings.
While each wood has its own particularly qualities, all are perfectly suitable for just about any garden building, and juxtapose any style of garden in a magnificent way. Most importantly, each offers a level of durability that simply can’t be matched by our competitors.
