Beat the Winter with a Garden Office
By Steven Willis on 7th December, 2010
With the snowfall appearing in the UK earlier than for over a decade, and judging by the similar conditions in January and February of this year, it’s fair to say that we’re heading into a long, cold winter. While snow-bound scenes may still have the power to elicit a flicker of childlike excitement, for a lot of us they now signify major inconvenience and even danger, especially when considering travelling to and from work.
Commuters are still suffering from the effects of the cold snap, with travel services decimated up and down the country. Many roads are still treacherous where they’re opened, trains and buses are severely delayed, and cycling and walking is positively hazardous in some areas.
As a result of this, working from home is something that a lot of people have been forced into doing these last two weeks. Cutting out the commute in these harsh wintery conditions is also cutting out a daily headache, and side-stepping the potential for major disruption.
Working in a garden office is a completely professional approach to working from home. Snugly positioned in your own office space, you’re surrounded by everything you need for a productive day’s work, unlike house-based working where you’re literally amongst everything you associate with relaxation and recreation.
