An Additional Home with your Garden Annex

An Additional Home with your Garden Annex

By Emma Heaton on 15th September, 2011

Having extended family, elderly parents or teenagers in the household can often make the space cramped. With everyone growing up and wanting their own rooms and children often bringing friends round at night time, your home can feel crowded and invaded stopping you from being able to relax in peace and tranquillity at night. At Decorated Shed we understand that families can outlive their current home, but we also understand that they want to stay close and still be able to enjoy each others company.

With a garden annex this is now possible, conveniently situated at the bottom of your garden it allows enough distance for everyone to enjoy their own space but close enough for those special, social family occasions and for the times that you want to be able to spend together. The garden annex can be used for so many activities, they can be fitted with bathroom and kitchen facilities to provide a complete self contained living area, it can include games and bedrooms for teenagers to escape, or it will provide a great space for hosting parties and social occasions or it can be a complete hub of relaxation where you can escape to in the midst of a busy family situation.

The durability and functionality of the garden annexes make a suitable living area for the extended family; the materials are carefully selected to ensure the garden annex lasts. The external cedar cladding and striking structure makes it an attractive focal point in your garden. In time the garden grows around the garden annex so that it blends in with the landscape, making it look more beautiful overtime. Outside you can create a more homely feel by adding decking, creating a smooth transition between the annex and the garden, this space can be used to put tables and chairs or plants to make you feel more at home.
