Active games room in the garden

Active games room in the garden

By Steven Willis on 12th January, 2011

With Microsoft’s Kinect and Sony’s PS Move following on the heel’s of Nintendo’s Wii, it seems that the future of gaming is becoming more and more active, with participants being required to stand up and move around, rather than stay sedentary in a chair as before. Whether it is dancing, bowling, exercising or even playing football, these games are becoming increasingly advanced, and with each new version there seems to be a more complex set of movements demanded from the gamer. For more and more people these developments have helped to move gaming out of the teenager’s bedroom and into the family-friendly lounge, as an exercise in socialising rather than isolation.

While these active games certainly have the power to entertain, and can provide an amusing focal point for gatherings, they’re not always compatible with the lounges in many of our homes. Furniture and light-fittings don’t mix well with swinging imaginary baseball bats, and accidental real-life bumps and bangs seem to have become as much as a feature of these games as the on-screen action itself.

Our garden rooms provide the perfect spaces for games, and particularly the demanding activities of Kinect, Wii and Move. Open-plan expansive floor spaces coupled with optimum suitability for wall-mounted televisions result in the ideal setting for active games.

So, if you’ve found that your active gaming has outgrown your living room and would like to transport it into a more suitable and enjoyable setting, get in touch on 0845 250 0028 or email info@decoratedshed.com for more information.
