A Light-filled Garden Office

By Steven Willis on 3rd January, 2011
A good source of light, preferably natural, is essential for a productive working day. Exposure to sunlight is directly related to the body’s production of serotonin, a hormone that contributes to mood, energy and a feeling of wellbeing. Poor light levels restrict serotonin, a factor that can contribute to low motivation during dark winter months, and is even linked to the condition of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). So, when selecting a work space it’s always recommended to consider how light the environment will be.
We design our garden offices to maximise the amount of light that enters the interior, creating spaces where productivity can soar. In doing so, we also create working environments that you’ll want to spend time in. In this sense there really is no comparison to city-based office units, where work spaces are defined by artificial strip-lighting.
One of our new designs for 2011, Studio, features a unique window-light at the corner of the building, creating a double-aspect, effortlessly tying in with the door-set and resulting in an interior that becomes flooded with natural light throughout the day.
