Holiday home destinations

By Dawn Kubicek on 12th May, 2010
Owning a holiday home is a dream for many British and Europeans.
If you are considering where to build your property take a look at the points below where I have gathered some initial information on the most popular destinations. Firstly though - when buying a holiday home, make sure you gather as much info as you can about - the local holiday rentals sector, legal, tax, rental and regulation issues. It also helps to keep up with all the latest tourism and development trends in the area so you know it suits your requirements.
Spain - home owners are most commonly Dutch, British and German and they normally from communities. Spain is definitely renowned for its lower cost of living coupled with great weather and laid back life style.
France - is at present, the most popular international tourist destination in the world. It currently receives over 75 million foreign tourists every year. France is bordered by Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, Monaco, Andorra, and Spain. Many holiday home owners use the Euro Star train service to get from place to place as there are many different countries and cultures on your doorstep!
America - is a popular choice for holiday home ownership due to it having some of the world's most exciting cities, English as its language and the Dollar being at a very low rate in recent years. Most holiday home owners feel at home quickly, due the friendly, welcoming nature of the Americans. So if you are looking to sun yourself in California, shop in New York, gamble in Las Vegas or ski in Colorado - now is an excellent time to invest in a USA property.
Caribbean - a popular choice for those looking to build a holiday home. This is down to the great weather, food and relaxed lifestyle. It is famous for some of the best diving, water sports and tropical beaches.
Bulgaria - another popular choice due to the cheap prices, good skiing, warm summer weather and the fact Bulgaria has been allowed to join Europe. In the villages you can still find people riding their donkey to work. But Bulgaria is catching up fast. Sofia has plenty to offer tourists. The ski and beach resorts are really cheap and there is plenty to see if you like picturesque landscapes.
UK - if you are a green minded holiday maker then a holiday home in the UK may just be the place for you!
