Scrapbooking your Garden

Scrapbooking your Garden

By Matthew Thompson on 02-09-2010

Ever grown something in your garden, and forgotten how it progressed the following year? With a garden scrapbook you won’t have this problem. A garden scrapbook is an enjoyable pastime to keep track of things you grow, with pictures, writings and even some samples taken from your garden. When better to start your garden scrapbook then the start of September, when the soil is perfect, the moisture is in the air and the foliage turns from green to brown.

A garden scrapbook will help you document the ways in which you improve your garden, and when better than to start in September? September is a month which symbolises a time to prepare your garden for the following year. The ground is like a radiator after retaining all the heat from summer, and with the added moisture in the air, it’s perfect for the growth of new bulbs. The scrapbook is perfect not just for a record of the garden, but is also an ideal way to get children involved and active around the garden, with so many practical ways to actively share in the joy you get from your garden. Perhaps even a separate scrapbook for them, documenting their satisfaction from having fun in their garden.

If you’re a new or seasoned gardener, a scrapbook goes a long way and can also work as a ‘garden guide’ for you year to year and season to season, helping you find out how well certain plants grow in different areas of your garden. Pictures are also perfect additions to a scrapbook, showing evidence of your achievements or even something to aspire to the following batch you grow. Splitting your scrapbook into sections, for seasons, plants and techniques is an excellent way to recap on work done in and around the garden.

A garden studio would be a great addition to your scrapbook, and what better way to develop your garden into a relaxing and peaceful place to be, than a garden building. A garden studio, would give a different dimension to any garden, with sleek and modern designs, it would be a tranquil place to sit and witness the slight changes which start to happen to a garden at this time. Decorated Shed buildings are developed for year-round use in all conditions, with class-leading levels of insulation and energy efficiency; a garden studio would contribute to your garden in more ways than one.
